About The Position

Brittain Electric is seeking experienced Journeyman Electricians to join our team in Covington, GA. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting commercial electrical systems while working safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. We are looking for electricians who take pride in their work, understand the importance of safety and teamwork, and are interested in building a long-term career with a growing electrical contractor.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of commercial electrical experience preferred.
  • Journeyman-level electrical knowledge and demonstrated ability to perform electrical work independently.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and NEC requirements.
  • Experience reading blueprints, electrical drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with conduit bending, wire pulling, terminations, electrical equipment installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to use electrical hand tools, power tools, meters, and testing equipment safely.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a construction team.
  • Reliable attendance and transportation to assigned jobsites.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with electrical construction, including climbing ladders, lifting materials and equipment, and working in varying jobsite conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot commercial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
  • Install conduit, cable tray, wiring, panels, fixtures, devices, and electrical equipment.
  • Bend and install EMT, rigid conduit, and other raceway systems.
  • Pull, terminate, and test conductors and electrical circuits.
  • Install and connect electrical panels, transformers, disconnects, lighting systems, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and identify and correct issues safely and efficiently.
  • Perform work in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), project specifications, and applicable local requirements.
  • Plan assigned work and coordinate with Foremen, Superintendents, and other trades.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
  • Follow all company and project safety requirements, including PPE and jobsite procedures.
  • Support and provide guidance to apprentices and less-experienced electricians as needed.
  • Complete assigned work accurately and within project schedules.
