About The Position

SunPower is seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Electrician to join its renewable energy team. The electrician contributes to installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar energy systems, helping ensure safe and efficient operation in accordance with industry standards and regulations. The role involves residential wiring and coordination with crew members during installation, as well as effective communication with crew members and the corporate office. This is a full-time position with a 40–45-hour workweek and stated compensation of $80,000–$100,000 per year. The position leads electrical work interconnecting solar arrays to the grid and requires professional, code-compliant workmanship. PV solar installation experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

Hold a national or state journeyman electrician license.
Have working knowledge of current NEC codes.
Have working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels.
Have experience with the hand and power tools required for the electrical trade.
Be able to read and interpret single-line drawings.
Be comfortable working from ladders and at heights.
Comply with OSHA standards.
Communicate effectively and efficiently with crew members and the corporate office.

Nice To Haves

PV solar installation experience.

Responsibilities

Perform work professionally and in conformance with national and local building codes.
Work cooperatively with team members to complete residential solar installations.
Diagnose and troubleshoot system components to resolve electrical issues.
