About The Position

JSM Airport Services is seeking a highly motivated Journeyman Electrician at Orlando International Airport (MCO). This is a career-track opportunity, and we are looking for an individual ready to commit to a long-term professional future with our company, starting with an expected commitment of one year or more. The primary responsibilities include providing electrical guidance, maintenance, and oversight of all mechanical/electrical systems covered under our maintenance contract, assisting other technicians with challenging electrical repairs, and troubleshooting electrical issues.

Requirements

High School Graduate or General Educational Development (GED)
State Journeyman Electrician License
Must have at least three to five (3-5) years of experience in the commercial electrical field
Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of motors
Knowledge of local electrical codes
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to perform mathematical calculations
Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
Ability to use hand and power tools
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

Provide electrical code guidance and direction on new equipment installations and ensure all new equipment/projects are wired to meet code/standards
Install and repair control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, circuit-breaker panels, etc.
Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus for machines and equipment in new and existing systems and facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints
Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment
Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments
Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit
Receive and complete work order
Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates
Maintain accurate records on material and labor used
Maintain inventory of company-owned tools, equipment, and materials
Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean
Work with construction contractors, airport representatives and supervisors to complete projects
Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures
Respond to emergency calls as needed
If there is no specific electrical work to be addressed, assistance/support will be expected in other segments of the contract with the airport
Safety and compliance training as assigned
Perform other reasonable ancillary duties to support the operation and our customer
