About The Position

JSM Airport Services is seeking a highly motivated Journeyman Electrician for a career-track opportunity. The ideal candidate is ready to commit to a long-term professional future with the company, with an initial expected commitment of one year or more. This role involves providing electrical guidance, maintenance, and oversight of all mechanical/electrical systems under the company's maintenance contract. Responsibilities also include assisting other technicians with complex electrical repairs and troubleshooting electrical issues.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Educational Development (GED)
  • State Journeyman Electrician License
  • At least three to five (3-5) years of experience in the commercial electrical field
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of motors
  • Knowledge of local electrical codes
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen, a driver's license check, a background check, and required federal fingerprinting, security threat assessment, as well as airport security badging.

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical code guidance and direction on new equipment installations and ensure all new equipment/projects are wired to meet code/standards
  • Install and repair control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, circuit-breaker panels, etc.
  • Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus for machines and equipment in new and existing systems and facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints
  • Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment
  • Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit
  • Receive and complete work order
  • Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates
  • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used
  • Maintain inventory of company-owned tools, equipment, and materials
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean
  • Work with construction contractors, airport representatives and supervisors to complete projects
  • Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures
  • Respond to emergency calls as needed
  • Provide assistance/support in other segments of the contract with the airport if no specific electrical work is to be addressed
  • Complete safety and compliance training as assigned
  • Perform other reasonable ancillary duties to support the operation and our customer
