About The Position

This role is for a Journeyman Carpenter at Alpha Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction, concrete, renewable energy, drilling, and infrastructure solutions in Hawaiʻi. The position emphasizes precision, ownership, and building the foundation for infrastructure projects. Requirements

  • Hands-on carpentry experience in concrete, foundations, framing, or related work
  • Strong layout ability with real-world jobsite application
  • Solid understanding of measurements, elevations, and construction math
  • Ability to read and execute from plans and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with rebar placement, spacing, and structural coordination
  • Confidence using layout tools (laser levels, transits, etc.)
  • Physically capable of handling demanding field conditions
  • You don’t wait to be told — you anticipate
  • You take pride in getting it right the first time
  • You communicate clearly and work like part of a crew, not above it
  • You respect safety because you respect the people around you
  • Completion of standard pre-employment screening.
  • Successful completion of a background check conducted after a conditional offer
  • Passing a drug test

Responsibilities

  • Execute precise layout for foundations, walls, and structural systems
  • Use levels, string lines, lasers, and transits
  • Ensure everything is square, plumb, and dialed
  • Catch mistakes early and fix them before they cost time or money
  • Read and interpret rebar, foundation, and structural plans
  • Set and maintain batter boards and layout reference points
  • Calculate and transfer elevations accurately across the jobsite
  • Support forming, framing, bracing, and stripping for concrete work
  • Stage materials efficiently
  • Work side-by-side with crews across trades to hit deadlines and deliver quality
  • Maintain tools, uphold safety standards, and keep the site tight
