Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of multiple makes and models.
  • Provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate (completed or in progress).
  • Completion of related post-secondary programs or training courses.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Red Seal Certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing, testing, and repairing vehicle systems to ensure safety and functionality using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance.
  • Inspecting critical vehicle components such as brakes, fuel systems, and engines, and repairing or replacing parts as needed.
  • Mentoring apprentices.
  • Maintaining a safe, efficient work environment.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance efficiently and accurately, following dealership and OEM standards.
  • Communicate with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production, cycle times, and customer updates.
  • Conduct multi-point inspections and recommend necessary repairs to ensure vehicle safety and reliability.
  • Document all work in repair orders to meet OEM standards and ensure warranty compliance.
  • Maintain personal inventory of commonly used tools not provided by the Service department.
  • Stay up to date on factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training classes.
  • Deliver an exceptional repair experience that drives customer loyalty and department revenue.
