About The Position

The Journey Students Worship Coordinator needs to be a confident leader who can lead worship in High School and Middle School environments. The Journey Students Worship Coordinator should be able to build, lead, and shepherd teams. This person should be gifted to win relationally on and off the platform. The position is an integral part of our Student Ministry and should be a gifted shepherd and spiritual leader for teenagers.

Requirements

• Musically and instrumentally proficient at a level to lead a worship band (drums, bass, keys, guitar, vocals).
• Must be able to confidently sing lead and harmonies and instruct others as well.
• Proficient at playing either guitar or keys (multi-instrumentalist is preferred).
• High School Diploma is required.
• Profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
• Commitment to continued personal spiritual growth and formation
• Model the standards and expectations of leaders within Journey Christian Church
• Must attend Journey Christian Church as church home and align with core beliefs

Nice To Haves

• College degree is encouraged
• Skills in Microsoft Office programs and other forms of technology is preferred
• Organized; flexible; ability to multi-task
• Exemplary oral & written skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate worship experiences for Middle and High School ministry events: Plan, organize, and execute engaging and meaningful worship services for students, including selecting appropriate songs, leading worship bands, and creating an atmosphere conducive to spiritual growth and connection with God.
• Develop and mentor student worship team members: Identify and cultivate the musical talents of volunteers by providing training, guidance, and mentorship to worship team members. Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages growth, creativity, and excellence in musical worship.
• Collaborate with student ministry leadership: Work closely with the Student Director, Creative Arts Pastor, and Next Gen Director to align worship experiences with the overall vision and goals of the ministry. Coordinate and integrate worship elements into larger student ministry events and initiatives, ensuring a seamless and impactful experience for students.
• Foster a culture of worship and discipleship: Encourage and nurture a vibrant culture of worship among students, helping them develop a deeper understanding of worship as a lifestyle and a form of spiritual expression. Teach and disciple students in the principles of worship, including biblical foundations, musical skills, and the heart behind worship.
• Engage and connect with students: Build relationships with students, seeking to understand their unique needs, interests, and spiritual journeys. Create opportunities for students to participate in worship through inviting them to join the worship team, leading small groups or devotionals, and providing platforms for their involvement and growth.
• Support special events and initiatives: Assist in planning and executing special events, retreats, conferences, and outreach programs within the student ministry. Collaborate with other ministries and church departments as needed to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to worship throughout the church community.
