About The Position

Journey Electric Line Technician This job is eligible for relocation assistance to the Colorado Springs area. Please note that the starting pay rate for this position is set at $62.87/hr. followed by an increase to $66.01/hr. after completing probation (typically six months).

Requirements

Completed a certified Line Technician apprenticeship program
Hands-on experience in both overhead AND underground distribution
A valid CDL Class A and a valid, unrestricted driver’s license are required

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of experience working as a journey-level lineman is preferred

Responsibilities

Installing underground or overhead electrical lines by laying pipe, pulling wire, and setting meters
Constructing, maintaining, and testing electrical systems and related equipment
Repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting street light systems, poles, luminaries, and circuits
Switching or rerouting electrical systems using proper sequencing and connections
Assuring compliance with safety standards and work practices
Operating line construction vehicles and equipment including wire-pullers, bucket and boom trucks, and various hand tools
Preparing materials for line construction and charging materials to appropriate job
Logging completed work orders and preparing reports
Assisting in training Line Technician apprentices
Providing emergency response after hours to restore power and repair infrastructure as needed.
Working in adverse work and weather conditions, as well as overtime and standby hours as needed.
