About The Position

The Joint Use Coordinator supports utility field services and technical services work by coordinating Joint Use activities, permitting workflows, client communication, field documentation, and preconstruction support for electric utility projects. This role helps ensure accurate, timely, and compliant coordination between utility clients, internal operations teams, contractors, permitting authorities, and other stakeholders in the assigned Northeast Georgia territory.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn Joint Use, permitting, electric utility, and work order processes.
  • Strong communication, documentation, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, GIS/mapping systems, spreadsheets, and job-related technology.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Ability to interact professionally with utility clients, customers, contractors, field personnel, and internal teams.
  • Ability to reliably support the assigned Northeast Georgia territory.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned territory.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electric utilities, electric cooperatives, utility contractors, or utility field services.
  • Experience with contractors or service providers such as Pike Engineering, Capstone, TRC, Davey, Osmose, or similar utility service organizations.
  • Knowledge of utility system operations, electric distribution, Joint Use, easements, permitting, or right-of-way processes.
  • Telecom, OSP, construction, commercial surveying, project coordination, or project management experience.
  • Familiarity with Northeast Georgia communities, geography, utility clients, or local permitting authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Joint Use activities related to utility infrastructure, attachments, permitting, and field service work.
  • Support preconstruction activities, work order review, field documentation, and client coordination.
  • Review, organize, and track Joint Use requests, permits, documentation, and related project information.
  • Communicate with utility clients, field crews, supervisors, contractors, local agencies, and internal stakeholders to support project completion.
  • Assist with field data collection, mapping, redlines, records, and documentation needed for utility construction or maintenance work.
  • Develop working knowledge of client processes, utility terminology, Joint Use requirements, construction standards, and permitting expectations.
  • Support compliance with applicable client standards, safety expectations, DOT/local requirements, and company quality procedures.
  • Help identify workflow issues, missing information, or project risks and escalate to leadership as needed.
  • Provide support during emergency outages or urgent operational needs as required or directed.
  • Work independently to complete assigned responsibilities accurately and on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
