About The Position

The successful candidate provides subject matter expertise (SME) in a critical advisory role, assisting senior leaders and joint battle staff in the planning, execution, and assessment of full-spectrum SOF training and readiness activities. Core responsibilities involve the planning and execution of complex training and readiness events across multi-domain environments. This position is contingent upon contract award. This role integrates operational and strategic priorities from the Combatant Commands (CCMDs) and Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), addresses emerging threats, doctrine, and lessons learned. The position requires advising planners in creating realistic scenarios that include phased injects, timing, triggers, and adversary behaviors. It involves coaching planners to accurately represent SOF mission sets and to set the conditions for capturing and delivering after-action reports with actionable recommendations to address capability gaps and improve proficiency. The SME may additionally contribute to exercise design, evaluation, functional support, or technical mentorship as required. Lead and/or support the design, execution, and delivery of analytical assessments using wargames, simulations, and tabletop exercises to inform strategic resourcing decisions.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of Special Operations experience
  • Former O-5+/CW3+/E-9+
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years Joint / Combatant Command / Service HQ / USSOCOM HQ staff
  • 2+ years Joint SOF crisis response operations
  • Both direct and enduring support to battle staff planning, crisis action planning, training, or exercise/readiness events execution
  • Ability to travel
  • Current DOD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
