Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree. Eight (8) years directly related work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Possess ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with members of the business community in order to identify employment opportunities
  • Possess skills and abilities to design and implement job placement-training programs
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills required
  • Facilitation and training skills
  • Knowledge of current workforce issues and trends
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse population

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years relevant program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interview students/graduates and assess their job placement needs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with employers to identify employment opportunities for students.
  • Determine employer needs, and facilitate the design and implementation of customized occupational skills training to meet those needs.
  • Participate in regional and national organizations to keep abreast of current employment trends.
  • Develop and conduct job readiness seminars and life skills training to assist program participants in making the transition from welfare to the workforce.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and host job fairs and employer recruiting days.
  • Monitor and evaluate initial performance of participants at worksites, and interview and counsel individual participants when necessary.
  • Counsel individual students/ graduates in employment strategies.
  • Conduct workshops for students such as resume writing, interviewing and job searching.
  • Represent HCCS at high school college nights.
