Occasional job coaching and retention support may also be provided.

Requirements

  • Provide job placement and job development services to individuals with disabilities seeking employment.
  • Assist and provide support in all aspects of the job search and obtaining competitive community employment.
  • May occasionally provide job coaching support and job retention services to individuals placed in employment as needed.
  • Work assigned schedule, exhibit regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide job development activities with individuals with disabilities referred to the Community Employment Supports department.
  • Contact employers/companies to seek job openings, schedule appointments, and represent the program through presentations to employers.
  • Establish, create, and secure jobs for program participants by following up with employers, setting up and assisting during interviews, and maintaining contact with company representatives.
  • Develop a job placement plan with each participant and referring source.
  • Complete job readiness assessment forms and conduct mock interviews.
  • Create a Job Coaching program plan identifying the level of support needed once an individual is placed.
  • Educate and teach program participants job-seeking readiness skills, including how to fill out job applications, write resumes, conduct a job search, and interview effectively.
  • Transport and accompany participants to potential employment sites, assist with communication with hiring managers, schedule interviews, and provide support during the interview process.
  • Encourage program participants to increase independent work skills by teaching job tasks, interpersonal skills, stress management, communication skills, and other job-related activities.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with employer partners, referring agencies, and other community organizations.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain professional relationships with potential new employer partners.
  • Keep accurate records by completing and maintaining required documentation, including case notes, monthly summaries and reports, intake forms, activity logs, mileage reports, and discharge summaries.
  • Maintain placement information in the case management system.
  • Maintain knowledge and skills by attending meetings, seminars, trainings, and workshops.
  • Maintain confidentiality of individual case records and other sensitive subject matter.
  • Work assigned schedule, exhibit regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
