The Job Developer is responsible for building and maintaining partnerships to effectively attract and retain employers in providing meaningful work-integrated learning (WIL) experiences and career opportunities for students. In collaboration with the Centre for Experiential Learning and the Career Centre, the role will utilize established market development and sales techniques to strategically identify emerging needs and opportunities that will assist students and new graduates to meet their employment goals and support business development with partners in the ecosystem. The role will conduct employer outreach and sales techniques to source program and industry-specific opportunities through multi-channel outreach strategies, including: cold calls (email, social media, phone), job fairs, networking, personal outreach, and lead generation, in order to achieve established targets. The incumbent will also conduct online job searches through social media platforms and external job boards. Through a values-based approach, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring clarity of process and policies for new and existing employers. The incumbent will ensure that employers are aware of and supporting in applying for current funding opportunities for onboarding students and new hires. The incumbent is responsible for accurately tracking employer leads within the Experiential Learning database and meeting established job development targets. To support the college’s duty of care requirements, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all positions posted on the college’s internal experiential and career boards comply with the college’s approved recruitment polices and are appropriately vetted and confirmed before becoming active.
