The Subsidized Employment Program (SEP) - Job Developer is responsible for engaging with local employers to develop and maintain ongoing mutually beneficial relationships that promote the hiring of SEP participants, while meeting the business needs of the employer. This role involves identifying businesses for client placement, establishing and cultivating relationships with local businesses and community organizations, and securing subsidized employment opportunities. The Job Developer will attend networking events, collect necessary business documentation, create systems to support regional growth and industry needs, and collaborate with other VOA programs and workforce partners. They will also work on marketing campaigns, ensure businesses meet specific criteria (in business for at least 2 years with a minimum of 3 employees), assist with meeting monthly placement goals, manage an employer database, and present monthly reports. The role requires working with community-based organizations, schools, and partners to establish relationships, and performing other related duties as assigned. This includes creating and implementing strategic partnerships, understanding business needs through local chambers of commerce and other organizations, marketing small business communities, supporting community NGOs, building a business database, and collaborating with other VOA job developers. The position also emphasizes self-development, attending staff meetings and training, supporting the DHA Liaison and Retention Specialist, and finding creative ways to meet participant and business needs. The Job Developer will expand the regional footprint, support the VOA team in securing new job orders, attend necessary training and collaborative meetings, and maintain knowledge of fire, safety, and health standards to ensure a safe work environment. Continuous learning and skill enhancement are expected.
