About The Position

Join a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals and strengthening communities. As a Job Coach, you'll play a hands-on role in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to build independence within their work and navigating their careers. Support individuals who are currently working on base at Camp Pendleton in building their employment skills and thriving in the workplace! Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid California driver's license
  • 2 years of driving experience
  • Vehicle insurance
  • Ability to obtain base access (We will assist in the process)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Dependable and service-oriented
  • Strong communication skills
  • Friendly and able to establish a good rapport with people easily

Nice To Haves

  • A related college degree or related experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, empowering them to reach their goals.
  • Accompany individuals to their place of work.
  • Teach job skills.
  • Observe individual abilities and interests.
  • Identify areas for further skill development.
  • Promote independence and self-reliance.
  • Help individuals with day-to-day work tasks and responsibilities such as, clocking in/out, requesting for time off, attend trainings, access benefits, review safety skills, communicate with supervisors and/or co-workers.
  • Respect and encourage each person to make their own choices.
