About The Position

Devereux is seeking a Job Coach for their CARES School in Downingtown, PA. This position is for a 52-week, year-round role, Monday-Friday, 8 am-4 pm. The Job Coach will work directly with adolescents and young adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, assisting them in transitioning from school-based programming to community and post-education life/vocational skills. The role involves supervising, training, and coaching students at community-based employment sites to foster greater independence. The Job Coach will also act as a liaison between employers and Devereux, collaborate with a team to assess skills, document progress, and provide input on student participation and functioning.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Experience working directly with adolescents or young adults with an autism diagnosis.
Seeking a position that will assist young adults transition from school based programming to community and post education life/vocational skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelors degree in education, psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
Two years experience working with adolescents and young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders in a transition and employment setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Directly supervise, train, and coach students within community-based employment training sites.
Work with students to achieve a level of accomplishment and productivity that allows for greater employment independence.
Act as a liaison between the employer/community based employment site and Devereux.
Work with a team to assess skills and level of functioning/participation.
Document progress and involvement of students.
Provide information and input based on level of participation, functioning and progress to goals.
