About The Position

Devereux is seeking a Job Coach for their CARES School in Downingtown, PA. This is a 52-week, year-round position, Monday-Friday, 8 am-4 pm. The role involves directly supervising, training, and coaching students with an autism diagnosis within community-based employment training sites. The Job Coach will work with students to foster greater employment independence, act as a liaison between employers and Devereux, and collaborate with a team to assess skills and document student progress. The CARES program serves students aged 5-21 with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities, focusing on increasing independence through individualized programming.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Two years experience working with adolescents and young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders in a transition and employment setting preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelors degree in education, psychology, social work, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise, train, and coach students within community-based employment training sites.
• Work with students to achieve a level of accomplishment and productivity that allows for greater employment independence.
• Act as a liaison between the employer/community based employment site and Devereux.
• Work with a team to assess skills and level of functioning/participation.
• Document progress and involvement of students.
• Provide information and input based on level of participation, functioning and progress to goals.
