Rewarding opportunity for an energetic Job Coach to work with youth who have mental health challenges or who are medically fragile and live at home in the community. Become a partner in their successful employment and increased independence by providing quality assurance in their tasks and lending steady support, supervision, and encouragement on the job site. You will initiate positive communication/relationships between individuals and their employer/co-workers. Job Coaches work in Prevocational Services and/or Supported Employment roles that enable youth to engage in paid work, volunteer work or career exploration. Prevocational Services are not job-specific and are geared toward facilitating success in any work environment for youth whose disabilities do not permit them access to traditional employment. Job Coaches will provide intensive on-going support to obtain and maintain an individual's job in a competitive employment in an integrated work setting. Services are intended to develop and teach general skills including: Effective communication with supervisors, co-workers, and customers Generally accepted community workplace conduct and dress Ability to follow directions and complete tasks Punctuality and attendance Appropriate behaviors within and outside the workplace Workplace problem solving skills and strategies Proper use of job-related equipment and general workplace safety Resume writing, interview techniques, role playing, and job application completion Exploring career options, facilitating appropriate work habits, demonstrating acceptable job behaviors, and learning job production requirements
