Job Coaches provide ongoing support to individuals working at various employment sites within the community. This support is individualized and centered around work-related goals that focus on helping the consumer obtain the maximum level of independence within their job. The job coach must be a skilled communicator, empathetic listener, and excellent problem solver.

Requirements

High school diploma/equivalent and/or relevant work or life experience.
Valid Wisconsin driver’s license, ability to meet agency driving standards, and proof of auto insurance.
Ability to pass required Wisconsin Caregiver Background Checks and any applicable out-of-state checks.
Reliable phone with voicemail and access to email.

Responsibilities

Serve as a positive role model and coach, helping clients build problem-solving, decision-making, conflict-resolution, and independent living skills.
Learn each client’s needs and support them in meeting goals in their employment setting.
Provide training, demonstrations, and guidance individually and in group sessions.
Ability to work a flexible schedule according to the needs of the clients and employers.
Teach and encourage clients to pursue their hopes, goals, and objectives through self-direction and effective decision-making.
Monitor and document client behaviors in the workplace.
