About The Position

The Brandywine School is seeking a Job Coach to assist young adults in transitioning from school-based programming to community and post-education life/vocational skills. This role involves developing activities to support the transition of students from childhood to adulthood, directly supervising, training, and coaching students at school and community job sites. The Job Coach will work with middle and high school-aged students to foster independence in employment, collaborate with a team to assess skills and progress, and document student involvement. The position is located in West Chester, PA, and offers a supportive, multi-disciplinary educational environment with strong community connections for job training.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Two years experience working with adolescents and young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders in a transition and employment setting preferred.

Nice To Haves

Bachelors degree in education, psychology, social work, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop activities to support the transition of students from childhood to adulthood.
Directly supervise, train, and coach students within the school and community job sites.
Work with middle school and high school aged students to achieve a level of accomplishment and productivity that allows for greater employment independence.
Work with a team to assess skills and level of functioning/participation and document progress and involvement of students.
Provide information and input based on level of participation, functioning and progress to goals.
