About The Position

Purpose: To provide persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities assistance with securing and maintaining employment through coaching, skills training, and collaborating with employers.

Requirements

Successfully completes the required pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings
Must possess a valid Driver's License with all necessary endorsements and have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
Proficient with WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK and basic computer skills
Must possess basic computer skills
Minimum one year of experience working in the human service field if required by work location
High School Diploma or equivalent if required by work location

Responsibilities

Assist individuals with disabilities in identifying, seeking, and securing meaningful employment opportunities that align with their skills and interests.
Deliver hands-on coaching, skills training, and individualized support to enhance job readiness, workplace performance, and professional development.
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive work environment by fostering positive relationships between employees, coworkers, and supervisors.
Maintain professional relationships with employers, advocating for workplace accommodations and promoting inclusive hiring practices.
Attend meetings, communicate regularly with stakeholders, and provide detailed reports on individuals’ progress, challenges, and achievements.
Use computer skills to document case notes, track support services, generate required reports, and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Complete required job coaching training courses, including Training Resource Network (TRN), Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), and other relevant training courses as needed.
Assist individuals in navigating transportation options to and from work, ensuring reliable access to employment opportunities.
Provide respectful, person-centered support for personal care needs as required, maintaining dignity and independence.
Proficiency in the English language (both written and verbal) is required as this job entails direct care of adult and children receiving services. Employees are required to communicate, both orally and in writing, with staff and others regarding medical care, supports, and services. This requirement includes the ability to effectively communicate in English including medical terminology.
