About The Position

The Summer Grant / Job Coach, also known as a Supported Employment Specialist, will instruct and provide support to individuals at community and internship sites to ensure they meet employer requirements. This role involves ensuring individuals are treated with dignity and respect, adhering to safety policies, and assisting individuals in learning job tasks through various methods. The specialist will also help individuals establish community employment relationships, schedules, and adhere to work policies, while providing necessary support for success in internship experiences. This includes problem-solving issues with individuals and employers, completing all assigned documentation, and following clinical services and programs. Peripheral duties include transporting individuals, assisting with schedules, and supporting coworkers. The role requires a high school diploma, one year of human services experience, and access to an insured automobile with a driver's license.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year Human Services experience
  • Access and provision of an insured automobile on an ongoing basis
  • Driver's License
  • Working knowledge of employment supports.
  • Ability to read/write English
  • Ability to instruct individuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats.

Responsibilities

  • Assure all individuals are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Adhere to all agency safety policies, including safe driving and seat belt practices.
  • Assist individuals (i.e., through demonstration, repetition, verbal and gestural instruction) in learning job tasks.
  • Assist Individuals in establishing community employment relationships, schedules, and adherence to work policy.
  • Support Individuals as needed (i.e., setting work pace, implementing work responsibilities, correcting work, etc.) to ensure success in the internship experience.
  • Problem-solving issues with the individual and employer.
  • Completion of all assigned documentation, including daily schedules, annual summaries, progress notes, data sheets, etc.
  • Follows and implements all clinical services and programs as applicable.
  • Verbal Interactions as per Behavioral Support Training.
  • Communication OT, PT, ST.
  • Transport Individuals to/from work.
  • Assist in working out schedules and schedule conflicts.
  • Assist coworkers by providing support as needed.
