About The Position

Hands of Heartland is seeking dependable and compassionate individuals to provide job coaching to people with developmental disabilities in Council Bluffs, IA. The role involves working directly with individuals in various job settings to ensure they have meaningful employment. The Job Coach will assist individuals on the job, communicate professionally with employers, collaborate to create natural supports, support training, and advocate for the individual on work-related issues.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to pass all background checks.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
• Flexible and willing to adapt to change.
• Know the value of communication.
• Desire to support people and encourage them to reach goals.
• Understand the importance of documentation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred although not required.
• CNA license

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals on the job.
• Communicate with employers in a professional manner.
• Collaborate with employers to create natural supports on the job.
• Support the individual with training.

• Ensure individuals have meaningful employment.
