About The Position

Job Coaches will provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within integrated community employment and may also assist with pre-employment skill development programs. The Home Life Vocational Job Coach is responsible for supporting individuals in a variety of employment-related settings. The Job Coach reports directly to the Vocational Program Manager, while in collaboration with the Lead Job Coach and Job Developer(s). Work as a team with the other Job Coaches in Home Life’s Vocational Program to ensure the best quality and consistency of services are provided. Job Coaches should understand that working hours may fluctuate based on the scheduling needs of the clients. Routinely check When to Work for schedule and updates. Ensure proper documentation of progress, changes to their job duties, overall independence, and any other individual support needs in Therap. Adhere to all policies, rules, and procedures of Home Life and the Vocational Program, while being mindful of different professional guidelines within job assignments. Attend and participate in staff meetings. Must complete Workday DSP and EP Modules; completing JPSCT (Job Placement Service Contract Training) and Discovery training is encouraged.

Requirements

Eligibility for Employment
Ability to pass an initial criminal history check from the Department of Human Services Criminal Records Unit and recheck every 2 years.
Be a citizen of the United States or legally able to work in the United States
Must be at least eighteen years old and hold a current driving license, insurance, and a good driving record.
Ability to complete required training and annual training thereafter.
The ability to maintain regular attendance and to perform tasks outlined in this description (with or without a reasonable accommodation) is an essential function of this position.
High school graduate or equivalent required.

Ability to transport supported individuals in Home Life vehicles in accordance with agency policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
Prior experience is not required but preferred.
Experience working with and/or supporting individuals with employment or vocational-related work.
Knowledge of the Vocational Rehabilitation and Developmental Disability Supported Employment systems and Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
Experience working in a variety of settings preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure that supported individuals’ confidentiality is maintained.
Ensure that supported individuals’ GERs are completed when the need arises, according to instructions provided.
Respond appropriately to the posted Emergency Preparedness Plan.
Follow all safety plans and protocols.
Maintain familiarity with OSHA and Safety & Sanitation policies of the businesses where we provide support.
Support individuals with on-the-job training and communication as needed.
Support individuals with job readiness and employment path skills.
Ensure that supported individuals’ schedules are followed and that supported individuals are present for scheduled activities.
Read Therap T-Log entries daily.
Ensure that all supported individuals’ employment supports are being met as outlined in the individual’s ISP action plan, and they are making progress towards goals.
Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager and Services Coordinator, such as assisting with Employment Path or Discovery.
Job Coaches are expected to assist with office maintenance and organization.
