About The Position

Blue Sky, Inc. is seeking a Job Coach to provide person-centered support to individuals with disabilities in community-based employment. The role involves on-the-job training, coaching, and skill-building to help participants develop independence, meet workplace expectations, and grow professionally. The Job Coach works with employers, families, and team members to support successful employment and long-term job retention.

This is a full-time position in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, with a starting wage of $18–$20 per hour, depending on experience. The schedule is 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday, for approximately 35 hours per week.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and a personal vehicle capable of transporting up to three individuals.
• Proficiency in English.
• Comfort working independently and adapting to new environments.
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity.
• Must meet state and county licensing requirements and pass a background screening.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals at job sites through hands-on job coaching and skill-building.
• Help participants transfer skills across different work environments.
• Assist participants in meeting production expectations during the training period.
• Maintain communication with employers, families, and team members.
• Collaborate with employers to modify or restructure job tasks when needed.
• Conduct scheduled follow-ups to support long-term job success.
• Encourage the development of workplace social skills, self-awareness, and confidence.
• Serve as a positive role model in professional and social settings.
