About The Position

New Avenues to Independence is seeking a passionate Job Coach to make a real impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities. This role involves providing on-the-job training to improve job knowledge and skills, assisting individuals in maintaining employment, and fostering independence at the job site. The Job Coach may also address issues related to transportation, hygiene/grooming, social/communication skills, and interactions with co-workers. The position requires completing appropriate reports and performing various assigned duties.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
1 year experience working with people with disabilities.
Valid Ohio Driver Licence.
Full auto insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

Provides one-on-one behavioral coaching and teaching.
Works closely with other team members to identify the specific skills the individual needs to work on.
Works collaboratively with team members to provide skill development through instruction, practice and coaching.
Amends approach based on individual’s needs and progress.
Focusing on specific behaviors and skills the individual will need to succeed in the work environment.
Participates in meetings with community support and individual’s family as needed.
Participates in discussions regarding processes, support, and service planning.
Develop effective job coaching and employment plans.
Assess the strengths of individuals and teach them to use them effectively.
Advise on workplace accommodations for people with disabilities.
Communicate with individuals to understand their goals and ambitions.
Attend job fairs and other recruiting outings as needed.
Completes documentation on regular basis.
Follow New Avenues policies and procedures as well as regulatory standards.
Works on site with individuals at their worksite.
Other duties as assigned.
