MCRD Job Coach, Food Service
About The Position
The Arc of San Diego is seeking dedicated individuals to join their diverse and dynamic team as Job Coaches for the MCRD food service employment program at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) location. This role involves supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a food service environment, supervising and training clients to ensure successful task completion, and fostering their vocational skills and workplace integration. The position also includes documenting client progress, providing transportation, and collaborating with a team to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Valid California Driver’s License, auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with mobile devices.
- Experience with case management systems (Therap preferred).
Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide job coaching support to individuals with disabilities as they work at the MCRD site.
- Provide training and guidance to help clients develop job skills and meet work tasks as required by the Military and Sodexo.
- Assist clients in following their Individual Service Plans (ISP) to promote independence.
- Build positive relationships with clients, coworkers, and site staff.
- Monitor and document client progress using the Therap system.
- Ensure client safety and support them in daily activities.
- Provide transportation to and from the worksite.
