About The Position

People Services, Inc. is looking for a dependable, hands-on Job Coach/Crew Supervisor to lead a three-person grounds maintenance crew while helping individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) build valuable workplace skills. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, leading a team, teaching others, and seeing the results of a hard day’s work. You’ll balance hands-on landscaping with coaching, training, and supporting the people you supervise.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; related college coursework is a plus.
  • At least one year of experience in a teaching, training, supervisory, or coaching environment.
  • Strong communication, patience, dependability, and teamwork skills.
  • Class C California Driver’s License and a safe driving record.
  • Ability to drive a manual-transmission vehicle.
  • Ability to safely back a 10-foot trailer using mirrors.
  • Basic knowledge of small engines and ability to troubleshoot common equipment issues.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds and work on uneven terrain.
  • Ability to obtain required First Aid/CPR and PRO-ACT certifications within 90 days.
  • Ability to successfully complete required fingerprint clearance and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
  • Grounds maintenance or landscaping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a three-person grounds maintenance crew, promoting safe and productive work.
  • Train and coach individuals with I/DD in proper work skills, habits, and workplace behaviors.
  • Perform commercial and residential landscaping, including mowing, edging, pruning, and general grounds maintenance.
  • Operate walk-behind and riding mowers and other landscaping equipment.
  • Ensure work meets quality standards and is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Complete basic production, attendance, and productivity records.
  • Provide feedback regarding employee/client progress, performance, and behavior.
  • Support individual training goals and participate in team meetings and conferences.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and provide first aid when needed.
  • Work outdoors year-round, including on hills and uneven terrain.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
