About The Position

Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide technical support for the Technical Advisory and Assistance Services (TAAS) program at Peterson AFB. This is a full-time position. Responsibilities include planning, developing, implementing, and administering information systems for data acquisition, storage, and retrieval. The role involves performing daily configuration and operation of business systems, system administration for existing AF systems supporting mission-critical applications across various platforms, and ensuring rigorous application of information security policies. The administrator will also support access control for SharePoint groups, optimize system operations, perform capacity analysis, aid users in accessing business systems, and design, develop, install, and implement databases and database management software. Additionally, the position requires evaluating, planning, designing, developing, and deploying new information systems using the available AF toolset and preparing technical implementation plans for integrated solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in systems administration including strong experience with JIRA administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
  • Must be Security+ certified.
  • Able to build JIRA/Confluence instances from the ground up.
  • Must have expertise in JIRA and Confluence to go beyond the basic features and tailor the application to organizational needs.
  • Experience with DoD systems.
  • Significant MS Server operating systems and VMWare support experience is required.
  • Significant experience with enterprise backup and SAN solutions.
  • Experience providing application support for COTS and proprietary applications.
  • Experience supporting both the client and server-side for enterprise systems.
  • Must have experience with hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Must be customer service oriented and able to demonstrate strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a Scrum Master or Agile Coach role a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement, and administer information systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data.
  • Perform the daily activities of configuration and operation of business systems which may be mainframe, mini, client/server, or cloud based.
  • Perform system administration duties for existing AF systems for mission critical applications across a variety of software and hardware platforms in use by the different groups.
  • Ensure the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of data management services.
  • Support access control for SharePoint groups as needed and support group administrators to maintain their SharePoint data effectively and securely.
  • Optimize system operation and resource utilization and performs system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Aid users in accessing and using business systems.
  • Design, normalize, develop, install, and implement databases and database management software.
  • Evaluate, plan, design, develop, and deploy of new information systems as directed by leadership within the available AF toolset.
  • Prepare technical implementation plans that provide integrated solutions including actions, milestones, timelines, and critical paths required for complete solutions.
