The Jig & Fixture Tool Maker interprets drawings, sketches, models, specifications, work sheets, and related documents to make standard and special jigs, fixtures, gages, tools, and assemblies. The role sets up, programs, and operates a variety of numerical-control and conventional machines, and uses standard tool room facilities and measuring equipment. Candidates must have extensive experience in four or more specified machine or process categories and be able to hold close tolerances of ±0.0002.
