Java Software Engineer
About The Position
V2Soft is hiring a Java Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and products that meet customer needs. The position participates in the full software development lifecycle, including software architecture, coding, quality testing, and deployment. The engineer will serve as a core member of an engineering team delivering microservices, APIs, custom web-based interfaces, and other applications according to business requirements. The role includes hands-on development of software tools for test data management using industry standards such as ASAM ODS, along with Test-Driven Development, software craftsmanship, and agile iterative development. The engineer will manage environments—including servers, databases, configuration, and security—according to best practices, and troubleshoot application and performance issues in GCP. This is a hybrid position requiring four days onsite per week.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 8+ years of experience in IT.
- 6+ years of development experience.
- Practical experience in two coding languages or advanced practical experience in one coding language.
- Experience with GCP Cloud Run, J2EE, Angular, GCP, SQL, Big Query, and microservices.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with SonarQube.
- Experience with GitHub.
- Experience with Jira.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand their use cases, pain points, and requirements and advocate for user-centric software solutions.
- Design, develop, and deliver solutions to complex problems using appropriate tools, programming languages, frameworks, methodologies, and technologies.
- Assess application or service requirements and select suitable technology stacks, integration methods, and deployment strategies.
- Create high-level software architecture designs describing application structure, components, and interfaces.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, architects, product leads, business stakeholders, and other cross-functional team members.
- Define and implement software testing strategies, guidelines, policies, and processes aligned with organizational goals, regulations, and industry practices.
- Improve application performance and efficiency, and implement technologies that enhance development efficiency.
- Apply software development practices such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Support security practices that safeguard user data, including encryption and anonymization.
- Create user-friendly, interactive interfaces.
- Develop and maintain back-end applications, including APIs and microservices, using server-side languages.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and capabilities, and participate in solutions involving new technology stack layers and industry collaboration.
- Complete hands-on coding assignments on time and with quality.
- Develop microservices, APIs, custom web-based interfaces, and other software applications according to business requirements.
- Manage servers, databases, configuration, and security in accordance with best practices.
- Develop test data management tools using industry standards such as ASAM ODS, TDD, software craftsmanship, and agile iterative development.
- Troubleshoot application and performance issues in GCP.
- Work with product leads and business stakeholders to devise solutions and break them into incremental, production-ready user stories.
- Identify opportunities to adopt new technologies to address existing needs and anticipate future challenges.
- Grow technical capabilities and expertise and provide guidance to other team members.
