About The Position

We are seeking a Java J2EE Developer to join the team. The role focuses on designing, building, and operating resilient ETL and streaming data pipelines in cloud environments, alongside Java J2EE application development. The developer will use PySpark/Spark and AWS services to support application and data workflows, and apply Agile practices to deliver incremental value. The position is located in Wilmington, Delaware, and an onsite interview is specified.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Java J2EE application development and common design techniques.
• Extensive hands-on experience with PySpark/Spark and ETL or streaming pipelines.
• Experience with AWS services such as SQS, Lambda, S3, and RDS.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python or Java.
• Understanding of CI/CD, TDD, cloud development, application resiliency, and security.
• Minimum 5 years of applied software engineering experience, with relevant training or certification.
• Work authorization: U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, or GC EAD preferred.
• W2 engagement required; C2C, 1099, and third-party profiles are not accepted.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Shell scripting on Unix systems.
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with modern LLM techniques and practical LLM use case development on OpenAI Azure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve Java J2EE and data pipeline solutions.
• Build and support ETL and streaming pipelines using PySpark/Spark.
• Use AWS SQS, Lambda, S3, and RDS for application and data workflows.
• Apply Agile practices and participate in ceremonies to deliver incremental value.
• Work across software engineering disciplines, including analysis, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
