Java Full Stack Developer

About The Position

We are looking for a highly experienced, hands-on Senior Full Stack Java Engineer to join the Concourse application team supporting a large-scale payment platform. The role is suited to a senior engineer who can independently analyze requirements, design and develop solutions, make sound technical decisions, and own deliverables with minimal supervision. The engineer will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including application design, development, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support. Backend development is the primary focus, accounting for approximately 60–70% of the work, with frontend development accounting for approximately 30–40%. The role also involves cloud and DevOps work, database design and integration, quality engineering and testing, production support, and the use of AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices.

Requirements

Senior-level, hands-on coding and development capabilities.
Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
Experience with application design and architecture.
Experience with database design, integration, and performance tuning.
Node.js and UI development experience, including the ability to implement frontend changes independently.
Experience with AWS Cloud Services and Amazon EKS.
Experience with cloud deployment and production support.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Jenkins.
Oracle experience.
Experience with database design and data modeling.
Experience with unit, integration, and API testing.
Experience with test automation frameworks and test case development; ability to write and maintain automated tests independently.
Ability to investigate and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis and log analysis, and troubleshoot performance and cloud deployments.
Practical experience with Large Language Models and AI-assisted development tools.
Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar tools.
Strong independent problem-solving and requirements analysis skills.
Sound technical judgment and ability to participate in architecture and design discussions.
Strong communication, accountability, and ownership of deliverables.
Ability to work independently and contribute immediately with minimal supervision or shadowing.

Responsibilities

Analyze requirements independently and identify technical gaps or challenges beyond existing documentation.
Design and develop application solutions, including participating in architecture and design discussions.
Contribute across the software development lifecycle: application design, development, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.
Develop backend services and REST APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
Implement frontend changes using Node.js and UI technologies.
Design and integrate databases, model data, and tune database performance.
Support cloud deployments and production operations using AWS services and Amazon EKS.
Work with CI/CD pipelines and Jenkins; use Spinnaker where applicable.
Write and maintain unit, integration, and API tests, as well as automated test cases and frameworks.
Investigate and resolve production issues, analyze logs, perform root cause analysis, and troubleshoot performance and cloud deployments.
Resolve production defects independently and recommend preventive improvements.
Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and modernization efforts.
Take accountability and ownership of deliverables, communicate effectively, and contribute with minimal supervision or shadowing.
