About The Position

Preferred Risk Insurance Services is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Developer with strong Java and/or C#/.NET engineering fundamentals and an AI-first development mindset. The role involves building and supporting modern web applications, APIs, services, internal developer tools, and cloud-based solutions. The developer will use AI-assisted development throughout the software development lifecycle and create AI-powered tools and reusable workflows to improve productivity and automate repetitive engineering tasks. The position also involves technical leadership, mentoring, quality assurance, and collaboration across teams and business priorities.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated experience operating at a Senior Developer level.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent education and professional experience.
Strong professional development experience with Java.
Experience with C# and modern .NET/ASP.NET Core.
Experience with modern Java development environments and tooling, including IntelliJ IDEA and JDK distributions such as Amazon Corretto.
Strong understanding of object-oriented development, dependency injection, asynchronous programming, API design, design patterns, and modern application architecture.
Strong experience developing REST-based APIs and web services.
Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or other cloud-based application development.
Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database design.
Experience with Git, GitHub, and/or Azure DevOps and collaborative development practices.
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to other developers.
Experience working on multiple projects or business initiatives simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and support modern web applications, APIs, services, and internal development tools.
Develop applications using Java, C#/.NET, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, SQL Server, and Azure technologies.
Use AI-assisted development across requirements analysis, solution design, coding, refactoring, debugging, testing, documentation, and code review.
Design and build AI-powered developer tools, agents, utilities, and reusable workflows to automate repetitive engineering tasks and improve developer productivity.
Review AI-generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, performance, and architectural consistency.
Identify opportunities for AI and automation to reduce development time, improve software quality, accelerate testing, or simplify business processes.
Design and develop REST APIs, microservices, integrations, Azure Functions, and other service-based components.
Design scalable solutions using Microsoft Azure services and related cloud technologies.
Troubleshoot complex application, integration, database, and production issues and use modern development and AI tools to accelerate root-cause analysis and resolution.
Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, product owners, QA, and business stakeholders to turn business requirements into technical solutions.
Create appropriate unit, integration, API, and automated tests for developed solutions.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior and intermediate developers.
Participate in code reviews and promote standards for architecture, maintainability, security, testing, and performance.
Work across multiple projects and business priorities simultaneously.
