About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Java Full Stack Developer to join our team for a long-term project. This role focuses on enhancing and maintaining an internal application currently in production. The application is used by internal developers and is not tied to critical functions such as login or enrollment. The contractor will primarily work on API enhancements and application maintenance, with opportunities to contribute to AI initiatives involving large language models (LLMs) and knowledge base integration.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring, REST APIs, and AWS.
• Ability to confidently read, write, and debug code.
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Angular for UI tasks.
• Familiarity with production application support and maintenance.
• Interest in AI/ML concepts and willingness to learn and contribute to AI-driven initiatives.
• 3 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative environment with internal developer teams.
• Curious and adaptable, with a desire to explore emerging technologies like AI.

Responsibilities

• Enhance and maintain two internal APIs.
• Implement new features and improvements in the backend using Java, Spring, REST, and AWS.
• Ensure code quality, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support production systems.
• Maintain and enhance the UI-based application.
• Work with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Angular for front-end tasks.
• Participate in projects integrating LLMs.
• Contribute to building and querying the internal knowledge base.
• Explore opportunities to apply AI solutions within the application ecosystem.
