Requirements

  • 7+ years software development experience building enterprise applications and APIs
  • 5+ years Java development with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Maven, and Gradle
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes, GKE, and microservices architectures
  • Strong background in building event-driven integrations using Apache Kafka, Confluent Cloud, or Pub/Sub
  • Experience with MongoDB Atlas and SQL/NoSQL database design
  • Expertise with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins), GitHub, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Proficient in distributed systems, resiliency, scalability, and performance optimization
  • Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and cross-functional collaboration

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Google Cloud services: Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Secret Manager, Cloud Monitoring & Logging, Cloud Build, Cloud SQL
  • Professional Cloud Developer or Architect certification (Google Cloud)
  • Knowledge of API gateways, service mesh, and advanced observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, Splunk, Datadog)
  • Experience in financial services or high-volume transaction systems
  • Familiarity with OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, Zero Trust security architectures

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud
  • Architect and implement cloud-native applications leveraging GCP services such as GKE, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Run
  • Build event-driven systems with Apache Kafka, Confluent Cloud, and asynchronous messaging patterns
  • Integrate with MongoDB Atlas, SQL databases, and enterprise data platforms ensuring high availability and scalability
  • Develop, optimize, and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Terraform
  • Apply Infrastructure as Code principles to manage and deploy cloud infrastructure
  • Implement robust testing strategies including unit, integration, contract, and performance testing
  • Ensure observability with centralized logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and GCP tools
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, architects, and business partners to deliver secure, compliant, and scalable solutions
  • Mentor team members and advocate for best practices in application architecture and cloud-native development
