Java Developer with DevOps Experience
About The Position
Optiveum is recruiting and contracting a Java Developer with DevOps experience to work on a project for a leading global investment bank, delivered together with a large international IT services company. The selected candidate will sign the cooperation agreement directly with Optiveum. The role involves building and running high-performance, messaging-based Java applications on Azure, combining software development with DevOps responsibilities such as containerisation, Kubernetes (AKS), Helm and Terraform. The position is full-time and hybrid, with three days per week at the client’s office in Kraków; this office requirement is non-negotiable. Candidates must live in or near Kraków. The B2B rate is 115–160 PLN per hour, depending on experience: 115–140 PLN per hour for 5–8 years of experience and 135–160 PLN per hour for 8–10 years. The recruitment process includes one interview with the IT services partner, followed by one to three interviews with the bank. Technical tasks are completed live, and candidates must have their development environment, tools, and language/framework versions prepared and tested. AI tools, coding assistants, and code generators are not permitted during interviews. The selected candidate will undergo an external HireRight background check covering identity, right to work, education, and employment history. Application and CV names must match the candidate’s official ID exactly; Polish citizens should include all first names. Candidates who participated in a recruitment process for the IT services partner or bank within the last 12 months are ineligible.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Security.
- DevOps skills including containerisation, Helm, Azure, AKS, and Terraform.
- Experience with Kafka and/or RabbitMQ messaging.
- Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL, and Apache Ignite or Hazelcast.
- Experience with high-performance messaging applications and performance tuning.
- Fluent English, both technical and business.
- Polish or EU citizenship, or a permanent residence/work permit valid for at least 12 months.
- Must live in or near Kraków and be able to work from the client’s office three days per week.
- Must not have participated in a recruitment process for the IT services partner or bank within the last 12 months.
- For live technical tasks, have the development environment, tools, and language/framework versions set up and tested beforehand.
- Application and CV name must match the official ID document; Polish citizens must include all first names.
- CV dates and employers must be accurate for the background check.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java (Spring Boot) applications for high-performance messaging systems.
- Build and integrate messaging solutions using Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Containerise applications and deploy them to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) with Helm.
- Manage cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Work with SQL and PostgreSQL databases and in-memory data grids such as Apache Ignite and Hazelcast.
- Tune application performance and troubleshoot issues across environments.
