About The Position

Lynden Incorporated is seeking a Mid-Level Software Developer to join our SeaTac-based IT team. This role is ideal for a developer with 4+ years of hands-on Java experience who enjoys building practical software, solving business problems, and working in a collaborative team environment. In this role, you’ll design, develop, test, implement, and support Java-based applications, integrations, APIs, and services for Lynden’s freight management systems. This is a hybrid position after training, with 2 days onsite in SeaTac and 3 days remote. This position is non-safety sensitive and requires ongoing authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of software development experience in a business environment.
  • Hands-on experience developing Java 17+ applications using Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
  • Served as the developer to build and deploy cloud-native applications in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and source control best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain Java-based applications, integrations, APIs, and services throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality software through clean, maintainable code, unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to established development, security, and change management standards.
  • Analyze project requirements, the existing environment, available technology, and develop recommendations for appropriate technology solutions.
  • Work closely with customers, business analysts, and other developers to understand business requirements and deliver quality, cost-effective technical solutions that align with business objectives, IT strategy, and architectural standards.
  • Participate in application and data architecture discussions and make recommendations regarding new development, system enhancements, technology adoption, and buy-versus-build decisions.
  • Provide training and post-installation support for customers, coworkers, and other IT support personnel.
  • Manage multiple assignments and projects simultaneously, establishing priorities and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production support incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
