About The Position

This position is for a store porter and includes major responsibilities such as providing friendly and courteous service to customers, maintaining floors by scrubbing, stripping, polishing, and re-glossing, operating scrub and buffing machines, emptying trash, cleaning windows, break rooms, restrooms, and manager's office, following safety and sanitation procedures, preparing linens for laundry pick-up, changing light bulbs, and performing other duties as assigned by store management. Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job. Training will be provided at the store level.

Requirements

Handling cleaning chemicals
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)
Minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred (Internal Candidates - Store/Facility Teammates)
Minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred (Internal Candidates - Store Support Center Teammates)
Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline) (Internal Candidates)
If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance (Internal Candidates)

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
Maintain floors - consisting of scrubbing with appropriate pads and chemicals, stripping, polishing, and re-glossing
Operation of scrub machine and buffing machine
Empty trash inside and outside the store
Clean windows
Clean break rooms, restrooms, and manager’s office
Follow safety and sanitation procedures
Prepare linens for laundry pick-up
Change light bulbs
Other duties will be assigned at the discretion of the store management
