About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining a high standard of the store's overall look and feel, which includes upholding cleanliness and recovery standards to deliver on Brand Promises. The position involves delivering friendly customer service, assisting customers in navigating the store and locating desired items. Key duties include collecting and disposing of trash, dusting and damp mopping floors, and moving equipment and products for cleaning. The role requires cleaning assigned areas using specified materials and equipment, potentially mixing cleaning solutions. It also involves deep cleaning of high-traffic areas such as bathrooms, breakrooms, and entryways to ensure a clean and safe environment for both customers and staff. The janitorial team member must maintain cleaning equipment, monitor supply needs, and proactively identify and address areas requiring cleaning. All tasks must be completed in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines, while maintaining positive and respectful interactions with colleagues and customers. The role also includes other duties such as providing efficient checkouts, handling cash, promoting loyalty programs, assisting with online order fulfillment (BOPIS, SFS), participating in truck unloading and stocking, and supporting safety and loss prevention programs. Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs is essential for compliance.

Requirements

Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
Ability to move throughout the store.
Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching and stretching.
Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
Applicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.
Must be at least sixteen (16) years or older.

Responsibilities

Maintain a high standard of overall look and feel of the store, including cleanliness and recovery standards.
Deliver friendly customer service and assist customers in finding products.
Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures.
Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
Move equipment and products for proper cleaning and place products back in correct placement.
Clean assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment.
Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Deep clean key areas of the store including bathrooms, breakrooms, entry ways and other high traffic areas.
Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly and notify supervisor of supply needs.
Seek out areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete the task.
Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
Perform tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
Maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members and customers.
Project a positive image and serve as a role model.
Provide a fast and friendly check out experience.
Execute cash handling to standards.
Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
Participate in the truck un-load, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
Support shrink and safety programs.
Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs.
