About The Position

This role is for a Janitorial Technician on the 2nd Shift in Blair, Nebraska. The position involves performing housekeeping and janitorial duties to maintain offices, restrooms, and public areas in clean and orderly condition. Responsibilities include trash removal, floor care (stripping, waxing, burnishing, scrubbing), assisting with minor facility repairs, and operating cleaning machinery. The role requires adherence to safety guidelines, compliance with company policies, and maintaining positive customer and employee relations. Accurate administrative duties such as time accounting and work order completion are also expected.

Requirements

Ability to work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment.
Adherence to "Safety First" expectations, including PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company/site safety guidelines and procedures.
Flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.
Ability to use hand tools and cleaning machinery on a daily basis such as floor sweepers and brooms.
Ability to observe details at close range.
Ability to control precision, quickly and repeatedly adjusting controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions.
Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity, quickly grasping, manipulating, or assembling objects.
Ability to perform substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds).
Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner.
Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules.
Two years’ experience in Janitorial / Custodial applications desirable.

Responsibilities

Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties to maintain offices, restrooms, and public areas in clean and orderly condition.
Remove trash from offices and other work areas.
Perform stripping and waxing of floors, burnishing waxed floors, cleaning and maintaining carpeted floors, and floor scrubbing of ceramic tile floors.
Assist other service personnel with minor facility service repair.
Follow established routines and perform any other duties assigned by a supervisor.
Use hand tools and cleaning machinery such as floor sweepers and brooms on a daily basis.
Comply with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals, including employee development planning.
Communicate with all team members to assist in the development of short- and long-range planning in support of the company’s goals and objectives.
Maintain personal tools required for the job.
Meet physical requirements of the job.
Maintain good attendance in accordance with Company policy.
