About The Position

Under general supervision, performs a wide range of facilities services. Effectively supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all program staff and is responsible for ensuring a trauma informed care environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ Janitorial experience required.
  • Candidates must have mechanical aptitude.
  • The candidate must have a valid NYS Driver’s License with a driving record that follows Agency guidelines.
  • Candidates must have reliable transportation as frequent travel between sites is required.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, plan, and complete work projects with minimal direction.
  • An ability to work efficiently and effectively and meet deadlines.
  • An ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal/written skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviors and attitudes which support agency mission, philosophy, and policies.
  • Willingness and ability to foster agency and program wide cooperation and teamwork through use of positive/constructive communication techniques.
  • Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s license and use of a registered and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provides janitorial services including cleaning of restrooms, kitchen areas, walls, conference rooms, offices, windows, doors, elevators, etc.
  • Vacuums and shampoos carpet areas and upholstery.
  • Picks up trash and sorts for recycling.
  • Provides maintenance services including setting up and taking down furniture for meetings.
  • Handles on-site deliveries.
  • Moves furniture and boxes.
  • Performs minor maintenance on cleaning equipment and building.
  • Cleans and changes HVAC filters.
  • Clears snow from sidewalks and salts daily.
  • Pressure washes around the exterior of the building.
  • Meets with supervisor to review work orders and discuss janitorial and maintenance health and safety issues.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as needed, including carrying out off-site errands.
  • Completes inventory of storage areas.
  • Provides plant care in reception and administration.
  • Provides worksheets outlining completed tasks to the supervisor at the end of each day.
  • Provides tracking sheets to the supervisor at the end of each week.
  • Participates in staff and department meetings as required.
  • Actively pursues development of professional competencies related to job performance through reading, supervision, in-service training and attendance at conferences and workshops.
  • Other duties as assigned.
