About The Position

The Janitorial Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the production facility. This role involves a variety of tasks to ensure a safe and orderly work environment, including floor care, waste removal, restroom sanitation, and general facility upkeep. The technician will operate cleaning equipment, follow safety protocols, and assist with special cleaning projects as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred, especially in industrial or manufacturing settings.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and scrub production floors to remove dust, debris, and spills.
• Empty trash bins, recycling containers, and scrap material receptacles.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and break areas.
• Wipe down machinery exteriors, workbenches, and high-touch surfaces (without interfering with production processes).
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment as needed.
• Operate floor scrubbers, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment safely.
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and PPE usage.
• Assist with minor facility upkeep such as replacing light bulbs or reporting maintenance needs.
• Support special cleaning projects during plant shutdowns or maintenance periods.
