About The Position

Ensures the safety and cleanliness of Rawhide buildings by performing general cleaning duties and minor maintenance specific to each building/area. This role involves maintaining a clean and safe environment, properly cleaning and maintaining housekeeping equipment, and reporting maintenance concerns. The Janitorial Technician will perform general cleaning and upkeep of Rawhide buildings and facilities, including cleaning floors, dusting, washing walls and glass, removing garbage, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, and performing small repair work. They will also update inventory levels for cleaning products and supplies and uphold "Broken Windows" standards by ensuring work orders are submitted for repairs. Additionally, the role requires maintaining professional knowledge through training and workshops, upholding the Rawhide standard of conduct, and contributing to team efforts.

Requirements

  • Previous custodial experience preferred
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of items greater than 50 lbs
  • Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks and exposure to hazardous chemicals

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean and safe environment to protect the safety and health of others
  • Properly cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment
  • Cleans assigned areas to Rawhide standards and requirements
  • Follows procedures for storage and disposal of trash and transports it to designated areas
  • Reports maintenance concerns via work order requests to appropriate personnel
  • Performs general cleaning and upkeep of Rawhide buildings and facilities by performing janitorial duties, such as cleaning floors, dusting, washing walls and glass, removing garbage, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, and small repair work; notifying facilities of the need for repairs; updating inventory levels for building cleaning products and supplies.
  • Upholds “Broken Windows” standards by applying the “Broken Windows” program to the custodial process; validating that a work order has been submitted for repairs.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by completing required trainings; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Protects the credibility of the Rawhide mission by complying with the Rawhide standard of conduct; setting an example, in words and actions, that is consistent with the values and beliefs of Rawhide.
  • Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as directed or assigned by supervisor.
