About The Position

Block by Block CA is seeking a Janitorial Team Lead to support the Operations Manager with daily duties in the San Francisco and Oakland area. This role involves supervising a team of 10 field grounds workers, engaging with the public, and ensuring the cleanliness, friendliness, and safety of public spaces. Requirements

Hospitality skills are required.
Open Availability required.
Weekends Required.
CA Driver's License with a Clean Driving Record is required.
Ability to drive truck in all types of weather.
Expectation of Walking and Standing out in the field for 8 hours a day.
Must be talkative and engage with the public all day outside.
Experience with Leading a team of 5 or more is required.
Prior managerial/supervisory experience.
Special project/Maintenance background - fixing banners, pressure washers, and operating other machines.
Must have the physical capacity to traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks.
Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more when needed.
Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
Basic knowledge of smart phone technology.
Valid Driver's License.
High School Diploma or College Preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage shift duties of clean and safe ambassadors, ensuring compliance with Block by Block standards, best practices, procedures, and policies.
Hold the team responsible for completing projects and remaining productive.
Communicate and lead daily shift briefings, assigning duties and zones, and reviewing events, weather, and safety updates.
Provide excellent customer service in the BID and towards the team of Ambassadors.
Provide guidance and direction for on-street and in-field operations.
Provide written reports of broken infrastructure, graffiti on private property, and a basic daily report of accomplishments and tasks completed.
Provide direction and counsel to team members and report concerns to the Operations Manager.
Maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and Block by Block standards.
Traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift with normal breaks.
Work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
Speak, read, and write the English language to create basic reports.
Be proficient in computer usage and Microsoft Office products.
Drive a truck in all types of weather.
