About The Position

The Janitorial Contract Worker is responsible for cleaning a school building in the West Point area. The role focuses on quality assurance, maintaining overhead costs, and ensuring high customer service standards. The worker is part of a team that fulfills contract requirements and may perform additional tasks assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience; previous cleaning experience is required.
• Strong organization skills and accurate attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask.
• Good customer service skills.
• Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to function as part of a cohesive team.
• Ability to walk between buildings to reach other locations.
• Ability to stand for several hours.
• Ability to move arms back and forth in a mopping motion.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
• Ability to push a shovel.
• Ability to climb stairs.
• Ability to work alongside coworkers within 3 feet.
• Ability to reach overhead to access higher locations.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of scrubbers or auto-buffers.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care; knowledge of scrubbers or auto-buffers is a plus.
• Clean restrooms.
• Clean windows.
• Remove trash and recyclables.
• Vacuum and dust.
• Possibly perform snow removal.
• Work as part of a team to ensure contract requirements are fulfilled.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
