IND Janitorial Agent
About The Position
The Janitorial Agent maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and safety throughout airport facilities, including terminals, restrooms, gate areas, offices, and public spaces. The role helps provide a clean and welcoming environment for passengers, airport staff, and visitors while following airport safety, security, and sanitation standards. Work takes place in fast-paced, high-traffic settings and may include indoor and occasional outdoor assignments, with frequent passenger interaction. The position requires following procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment, reporting facility concerns and hazards, and complying with airport and company policies. Shifts listed are 10pm–4am or 6pm–4am. Employees may need to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.

- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Reliable telephone and transportation.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.

- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions and high-traffic areas.
- Must be able to take verbal direction in English and read, write, understand, and carry out instructions in English.
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Must meet requirements to obtain a security-sensitive identification badge.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize airport terminal areas, including restrooms, seating areas, gates, hallways, and public spaces.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners throughout assigned areas.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors.
- Replenish restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and tissue.
- Clean spills and respond promptly to cleanliness or safety hazards.
- Maintain cleanliness of high-touch surfaces, including handrails, counters, and door handles.
- Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or facility concerns to supervisors.
- Support deep-cleaning tasks as scheduled or assigned.
- Follow airport safety, security, and company policies.
- Assist with cleaning support during high-traffic periods or special events.
- Maintain professionalism while working in passenger-facing environments.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Take reasonable care of personal and others’ health, safety, and wellbeing at work, following provided information, training, and workplace safety rules or procedures.
- Wear the proper uniform or business attire as directed and keep identification badges visible.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achieving company objectives.
