About The Position

The Janitorial Agent maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and safety throughout airport facilities, including terminals, restrooms, gate areas, offices, and public spaces. The role helps provide a clean and welcoming environment for passengers, airport staff, and visitors while complying with airport safety, security, and sanitation standards.

The position works in airport terminals and other high-traffic areas, with frequent passenger interaction. Assignments may be indoors or occasionally outdoors and require continuous cleaning and upkeep. Shifts are 10 p.m.–4 a.m. or 6 p.m.–4 a.m. The role includes safety responsibilities, compliance with workplace health and safety procedures, and adherence to the company’s Substance Misuse Policy, which prohibits alcohol and drug misuse and includes regular testing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
• Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Must have a reliable telephone and transportation.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout a shift and work in varying environmental conditions and high-traffic areas.
• Must be able to take verbal directions in English and read, write, understand, and carry out instructions in English.
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Must meet the requirements to obtain a security-sensitive identification badge.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize terminal areas, including restrooms, seating areas, gates, hallways, and public spaces.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners throughout assigned areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors.
• Replenish restroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, and tissue.
• Clean spills and promptly respond to cleanliness or safety hazards.
• Maintain cleanliness of high-touch surfaces such as handrails, counters, and door handles.
• Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and facility concerns to supervisors.
• Support scheduled or assigned deep-cleaning tasks.
• Follow airport safety, security, and company policies.
• Assist with cleaning during high-traffic periods or special events.
• Maintain professionalism in passenger-facing environments.
• Perform other duties as requested.
• Take reasonable care of personal and others’ health, safety, and wellbeing at work.
• Wear the required uniform or business attire and keep identification badges visible.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achieving company objectives.
