About The Position

This is a part-time Janitor position requiring bilingual Spanish/English skills, located in Lombard, IL. The role involves performing routine cleaning and sanitation of various areas, assisting with minor maintenance and groundskeeping tasks, managing supplies, and adhering to safety and security procedures. The schedule is for one part-time position available only on Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 pm to 12:00 am, with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Bilingual in Spanish and English (required).
Knowledge of cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment.
Ability to safely operate custodial machinery (e.g., vacuum, floor buffer).
Strong attention to detail, dependability, and teamwork.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

Prior custodial/janitorial experience preferred, especially in schools or large facilities.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, offices, hallways, cafeterias, and other common areas.
Clean and disinfect restrooms, including sinks, toilets, stalls, and fixtures.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize high-touch surfaces.
Empty trash bins and recycling containers; replace liners as needed.
Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
Report repair or maintenance needs promptly to the supervisor.
Assist with minor tasks such as replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, or touch-up painting.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure spaces are clean, orderly, and safe.
Keep entryways, walkways, and outdoor areas free of debris.
Assist with clearing snow, leaves, or trash as needed.
Help prepare rooms for events, activities, or meetings by arranging furniture and equipment.
Monitor and restock janitorial and restroom supplies.
Maintain a clean and organized supply storage area.
Communicate supply needs to the supervisor for ordering.
Follow all safety procedures when handling cleaning products and equipment.
Report any safety hazards or security concerns immediately.
Support emergency drills or procedures as directed.
