About The Position

The Janitor cleans and maintains orderly work areas, washrooms, and the premises of an office, commercial, or other establishment. The role involves floor care, refuse removal, dusting and polishing fixtures, and replenishing supplies while maintaining safe work practices and a safe environment. The position may also include other assigned duties. The Janitor reports conditions requiring maintenance or repair to the immediate supervisor. The work requires frequent movement and physical activity, including standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and using the hands. The position involves frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential exposure to blood and other bodily fluids, and may be performed alone or with minimal supervision. The position may be filled only by U.S. Persons because of federal contract compliance requirements. The employer maintains a drug-free workplace and performs pre-employment substance abuse testing. The stated base salary is $19.11; the position may also be eligible for benefits such as medical, well-being, financial planning, and short-term incentive benefits.

Requirements

Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions in English.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Current driver's license.
Ability to deal with others in a diplomatic and positive manner.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to work alone or with minimal supervision.

Previous custodial experience.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, scrub, and polish floors.
Remove chips, trash, and other refuse.
Dust equipment, furniture, or fixtures and polish metal fixtures or trimmings.
Provide supplies.
Maintain safe work practices and a safe environment.
Report conditions requiring maintenance attention or repair to the immediate supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
